[Once again, the DARK DENIZENS OF THE NIGHT RESUME THEIR ENDLESS WALKS, which is to say, Illumi and Maou happen to run into each other as they both happen to be in the library.]
[The library is always a good place to be at post-dinner o'clock of the evening -- there's no one here to enforce library rules, natch, and Maou wouldn't have listened anyway, so he's lounging sprawled on one of the couches and half-hanging off just due to his height. There's a steaming cup of tea by his head, not quite as dark as the night but at least as deep.
He seems to be fond of the magazine section, since there's always one around him and has been since he's discovered the stash, but just at the moment he's paging his way through what looks like a small novel; there's a dragon on the cover... and... something about recipes??]
Mm, well, it's only natural as always -- to explore the areas unlocked, and find out more about the backstory of our strange circumstances. Yes? After all, we still don't know why we're getting more instructions from the recordings than from our supposed hosts?
Perhaps there are ever more basements, all the way down to the ninth level of hell!
[At least his imagination is working full blast right now.]
Ah, I don't think it would be that easy to just read about what's happening here...
[He moves over the Maou, staring at him for a moment, as if considering something. Man, he's so..............long. He's even taller than Illumi, like. What the heck.]
Do you think this is hell, Maou? That sounds silly.
Oh, of course not. [airily, and given that he seems to be reading about dragons and baked goods, or perhaps dragons hoarding baked goods, who knows, it's probably close enough] It won't just be laid out, and if anything I would have expected books of curses! Books of darkness, and the ancient and terrible tongues.
That is what I expect from a demon's library, but I would say the libraries in hell have a little more color, and a little more variety than these.
[There's that studied pompousness, especially when he speaks of their lodgings and how they came to be there and everything directing the ridiculous, many-headed eldritch thingamajig of a scenario they've been chosen to play in. Sometimes literally.
He props his head on a hand and the book against himself, a pause to watch Illumi back. It always pays to be watchful with rogue classes.]
But I will grant this little piece of the demonic realm the title of a small hell. I find myself here, after all, and thus the plot continues to thicken, and the quests to multiply.

...Checking out the books as well?
